About Chris Simons

I've always been fascinated with the natural world. Going back as far as when I was 5 years old I had an unhealthy obsession with dinosaurs and it was at about this time when I managed to get signed edition of David Attenborough's seminal book - Life on Earth.

I'd like to say since then I haven't really looked back, but I have to admit a long period of denying my inner nerd whilst travelling around the world with a surfboard.

Over the years I haven't neglected my interest in science and nature, racking up a total of 3 science degrees, including a BSc in psychology and a BSc in Natural Sciences. The latter was during a time when I was considering entering medical school.

Hopefully all the aforementioned paperwork makes me some way to being qualified to write about the topics covered on Planet Deadly. However, I think it is my enduring fascination with the biggest, nastiest, meanest and most dangerous that makes me the ideal writer for this website.
